Christine and Aldo { Engagement Session Part l }

I remember the day I got Christine’s email inquiry … I was doing my civic duty … read, “stuck in Jury Duty during my busy season!” and I actually thought that someone was pulling my leg!!  The email was so so so sweet and made me feel like a Rock Star … and just so ya know … I’m clearly NOT a Rock Star!!  BUT it is so fun to feel like one!!!  Annyyyyyyway, I decided that I would call her and see if this sweet sweet person was a good friend pulling my leg or really real!

Guess what?!!!  Christine and Aldo are REAL!!  They have become special friends to me and I honestly could not imagine life without them now!  Crazy to say I guess, but so true!  It brings tears to my eyes now as I type this (yes, I’m really that dorky) thinking of them and how real they are.  We’ve shared many a meal together in the last year and I know in life we will share many more!  I love these two!

This year has been a crazy one for me so I’m doing a bit of catch up work on getting my blog posts done … so I’m going to share their engagement session with you … we did two … see we had to do a fun City one, of coarse!  BUT we LOVE food … so I insisted that we do a “food crawl” at the State Fair!  So of coarse we did!!!  Here is Part I of their sessions!

Destination Wedding Photographer {I miss Kauai} sneak peak at Jasmine and Ying Day After

I woke up this morning wishing I was in Kauai! Those mornings were so wonderful … roll out of bed, grab a cup of coffee, hand out on the Lani with friends and then enjoy the day … which that week not only was a dream job but also fabulous fun! How often do you get to go diving with your coworkers, aka the awesome Alison and crew of Alison Ulshoffer Events, and stroll the island taking photos of your bosses, Jasmine and Ying who got married on the Island (I promise those photos are just around the corner to being posted)!!!!!

One of the very best part of being a destination photographer is the above but also getting to capture my clients enjoying their wedding time and capturing more than just the usual photographs … we spent the day two days after their wedding just snapping around the island and enjoying … while driving them to locations they confided … it’s so nice to just hang!! I loved hearing that and I loved capturing some stinking fun and smokin’ hot photos on a Hanalei Bay beach that we could have not done is a wedding dress … on the wedding day … oh I’m so excited to share those!!!

Destination Engagement Session | Forest Hill | Jennifer and Mitch

I think the BEST part of shooting someones engagement session is getting to know them … it’s getting to watch the magic between them … I LOVE it!  It’s so fun to incorporate things that my couple loves … like nature and their doggies!

Jennifer and Mitch are getting married at the Monte Verde Inn in May and I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding.  Many moons ago I used to work with Jennifer’s mom and it is truly an honor to be photographing Jennifer and Mitch’s wedding.  It is amazing how 15 years ago I would have never guessed that I’d be living my dream AND photographing Janice’s daughters wedding … Crazy how life is and how things happen!

We had so much fun last week … not to mention the slight delay of being pulled over by the CHP! :-)

Destination Wedding Photographer | Zach and Crystal | Wilson Vineyards

I always say that I have the BEST clients, because it IS true … the things that I get to share with people make my life full and happy and the tears and the smiles that I get to share with everyone mean so very much to me. The thing that I really wanted to share about Zach and Crystal besides their beautiful wedding at Wilsons Vineyards is that they have a zest for life and each other that simply put I admire! It is rare to see such true happiness in each other and when Crystal and Zach are together and dancing and lovin’ life it radiates! Truly!

I had the honor of working with some other vendors that I truly enjoyed working with, Katie with Ambience Floral and Jackie with Every Little Detail.   Extreem Productions , Tasty food by All Seasons All Reasons and Delish cake by Sheltons Wedding Cake Design.

Beauty and the Flowers

The Friday before I left for vacation I had the honor of photographing not only a beautiful couple, but a friend and a fellow photographer! Truly an honor.

When I first met Vicky she was not looking for a photographer, she was looking to apprentice under a photographer. So, I said, let’s talk and see if we are a match and if we are … awesome. Turns out that we are. So over the past year we’ve had fun chatting about, among other things, gear, photoshop, editing and indeed her own wedding. AND over the past year we have become friends and that is what I cherish the most.

So fast forward to her wedding, I am a very emotional person, that should come as no surprise and I typically cry at the weddings that I photograph (even the weddings in movies, yes, I’m a dork!) But when Vicky and Chris saw each other before their wedding and there were tears of their own, I too could not hold them back. I was so happy for them. I think we all started laughing when Vicky said “why did you wait so long!” Too funny!

The morning of the wedding it was pouring… I don’t mean sorta, I mean pouring rain and I thought, oh no! Please rain, please go away. And it DID! We were able to capture some amazing images, in the brief parting of rain clouds!

The evening was lovely and all their planning had come together. Thank you so very much Mr. and Mrs. Flower … I love you guys … and am so happy for you!

Here is a sneak peak of some of my favs from the day.
