Attitude Is Everything

Ahhhh, after the morning I had this morning that is exactly what I needed to be reminded of.  Generally speaking I’m an upbeat gal … I love life and all the adventures it brings us … today was just one of those days that one has every now and again that makes us stop and say … hey!  Hey! just a minute … I need to take a breath and I need to chill.  I took a little time off this afternoon for me … it was glorious.  I just enjoyed life.  Every now and again I need to do that and today it was just what I needed …Because life itself is a glorious opportunity and I don’t ever want to forget that.

This weeekend I’ll be photographing at Stinson Beach … one of my very favorite places … it’s a place that I can just sit on the beach and think … It’s magical to me.  I can’t wait!  I’m also super excited because I’m getting to stay at a swanky hotel and have a girls night out … I can’t wait to share …  I’ll also have some fabulous images to share from the beach sessions for sure!!!

friends – beach – pizza – beer

Seriously … what more could a photographer want?!!

Recently I was in Monterey to photograph McCaulie and Geoff’s wedding weekend!  It was fabulous!  Whenever my clients tell me that they are getting married at the beach and the foot attire is flip-flops … I’m so there!

Here are some photos captured at their rehearsal … it is one of my favorite parts of the weekend because I get to be with the people closest to the Bride and Groom and I get to know everyone on a casual basis.  Also, everyone is so excited and happy … it’s the best!  Love it!  And McCaulie and Geoff made it even more awesome by having pizza and beer for dinner … yummy, yummy, especially after spending some time at the beach!

a wedding that will live in my heart forever

So, it’s no surprise to hear from me, I say it a lot … I have the BEST job ever … sometimes I even think … maybe I should stop rubbing it in!!  Seriously, each day I wake up I think of the experiences that I get to share with people and it brings pure joy to my heart.  I really don’t have a J-O-B …I get to live my passion.

Each experience touches me and changes me … but there was one recently … it will live in my heart forever.  I can’t share many of the images with you due to confidentiality … but I can share some of them … and I can tell you how extraordinary the evening was.

When the groom initially called me to meet … there was something in his voice … I felt it … a certainty … we scheduled our meeting, enjoyed some good eats and conversation and before we parted that evening they told me that they wanted me to capture their day.  I was so honored and excited because they are in the film industry … they know art and art that is captured through the lens … my heart was pounding with both glee (literally) and nervousness … I mean seriously … I was thrilled.

Their story is amazing, they actually met at a school reunion of sorts … saw each other and MAGIC!  Wow … I just love that … and if you met them you could see just how it would happen to these two wonderful people.

The wedding was nothing short of the kind of wonderfulness that you would expect. Timeless beauty and good people were abound.  But what I really wanted to share … what will live in my heart forever was that the Groom made a movie that highlighted their upbringing … everyone made their way down to the outdoor movie theatre at the hosts home … it was sorta like the slide shows that are common at weddings … BUT … both their fathers are no longer living and the Groom mixed video with their fathers voices in the movie … seriously there was not a dry eye … not even me and my assistant … we were crying … not just a tear of two … crying … it was so powerful.  I will remember that night and that feeling of all the love that was around them and their families forever.

I thank them for the honor of being a part of their begining and I’ll be begging them to share more of their images, we captured some amazing ones  … but for now … here are some that I can share.
