Day-cation

So, it truly was a wonderful weekend. Today we woke up and decided it was Day-cation time … we got dressed and headed out for doughnuts, mini golf, In and Out Burger and the roller skating (which we were so rusty at by the way!). It was a blast of a day! I brought the camera along, which most times I don’t for stuff like this … but hey, it was day-cation day … so I got to snap a few without driving Tony crazy!

LOVE {SMILES} LOVE

Today was a perfect day. Tony, told me that I was beautiful, after his first cup of coffee. Important, why?, you ask … because after your first cup of coffee … you are totally awake … no blurred vision!! Seriously, it was one of those moments that defined my day … so simple and perfect. We were in the kitchen saying our goodbye for the day as I was leaving for work and he just looked up and said you look so beautiful today. The simple, perfect moment set the day into motion … I drove to my destination in Roseville, the back way, I love going the back way because it gives me time to think … space … it gives me things to look at things … like the beautiful mustard everywhere on the way, and I can turn the radio up loud to crazy music that my husband turns his head the other way and acts like he doesn’t know me if anyone asks who is playing it. As I was driving (blaring the Pointer Sisters, I might add) I wanted to call my brother and laugh with him … he always makes me laugh … and we are total 70′s music dorks … but he is traveling, so I just thought of him and smiled … then I got to my destination and my good friend LoriAnne was there … we embraced and she said I looked beautiful! WHAT is going on here????!!! I don’t know … but what I can tell you is I smiled at just about every stranger I saw today and they smiled back! It was awesome! A simple smile … spread so many other smiles … it makes me smile just telling you about it! I wish I had photographs of all the smiles today. It’s amazing what a honest and true smile does.

I have to share one more awesome thing about today … my friend Martha came by to say hello on her way to work … just to say hello … it made me feel so special … I had to hug her twice!!

Simple, kind things that spread so much … it didn’t cost a thing and it made me feel loved and I got to spread that to total strangers. AWESOME!

Sweet Sarah

I’m a sucker for the story. I love to know people. What do you like … what’s going on … why is your favorite color blue? Sometimes I ask crazy questions … sometimes I just listen and it all comes out.

Photographs for me, speak too. Something about that split second that can capture so much.

During a recent session with Sarah … we had some fun … running … smelling flowers … chatting …listening… capturing treasured moments with grandparents … jumping on mom and dads bed … and a little baking. It was quite fun I have to admit … I think the image with Sarah holding her grandma’s hand grabs me the most … for so many of my very own personal reasons … but also for the fact that this image is so much more meaningful knowing the story of what her grandma is going through … and one day maybe this photograph will be meaningful to Miss. Sarah. Thank you {N} family for sharing we me and letting me be part of capturing such precious moments.
