The most beautiful day in the City

It seriously was the most beautiful day in the City that I have ever experienced when I met up with Kristen and Chris for their engagement session. It was fabulous!

We shot around some of their favorite spots and had a great time. I love it when the groom is having fun … Chris was having a blast which made for some fun photos. There was a point in the afternoon when we were getting in the car and Chris ran in to get some drinks and Kristen said to me, “he is so wonderful”, if she was my daughter it would have made me glow inside and out, in fact, I’m sure it did because I could tell they were happy … not the silly fun fresh love happy … but HAPPY, long term happy. So awesome! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day!

Here are some of my favorites …

Great Big Smile

Well, I’ve returned from a wonderful family vacation feeling refreshed and ready to hit the road running!

I got all snuggled up to the computer last night, editing some photos from the sessions right before vacation and when I came to this image I started laughing. This doggie is smiling at me!!! He was so happy!! He reminded me of how I feel about how wonderful things are, even sometimes when they don’t seem so wonderful. We were watching Charlie Brown last night and Charlie said I like to look at it like no matter what happens something good will come of it. Isn’t that so true. It’s how we look at things. Of coarse Linus said “that is called stupidity (or something like that) … I thought wow, it’s sad but that is how some people do look at things.  Even in a cartoon.  Crazy.

I’m super excited for the things in store the next couple of months.  I feel my creative juices flowing.  I’ve been jotting down notes like my life depended on it.  Now I just have to start putting them into action.  I love going to Disneyland … it inspires me on so many levels … I so needed that!!! :-)

I hope this little guys brings a smile to your face or a little laughter … I think I’m going to blow it up and put it on my own desk!!!

Much Needed R & R

So just a quick post to let everyone know that we will be checking our emails and phones very limited this week as we are heading out of the studio for some much needed R&R. Feel free to email or leave us a message … we’ll surely be checking in once a day.

I just installed an app on my phone to allow me to blog from it … so I’m going to test it out … If things go wacky you’ll know … ahhhhh, Penny, testing some new software. What is funny about that statement is when I was in the IT business I was famous for “fixing” things at lunch time and saying my apologies later after everything was all back up and running … just a quick hick-up at lunch I would say … who noticed?… everything is good now right???!!! Needless to say, I’m not a huge fan of change control … totally see the value in it … but sometimes you just gotta getter done and work it out later … right?!

Fun, Fresh and Fabulous … Jasmine Star

So, I just got home from an evening of hanging with some of my favorite photographers and listening to Jasmine Star speak at a packed room of photographers.  Jasmine is probably one of my most favorite photographers … she is real, honest and Fabulous.  I’ve been a fan for quite sometime and it was an real honor to get to say hello, give her a warm hug and thank her for being her.

I’m such dork that knowing that I would probably cry when I met her … not because I was sad … but because her writing and her sharing of herself really touches me, and I’m sappy like that … a total crier FOR SURE.  I had a fellow photographer waiting in line to meet her take our photo first and foremost!  Check, that was off the list.  Now, onto getting to meet someone I’ve wanted to meet for the last two years!  I’m so glad that I waited to do so!  I’ll note that I should post the photo but I can find the silly cord to my point and shoot camera and the tiny card reader is no where to be found!

Jasmine, you total ROCK!  Thank you again for being you!

Now, onto cracking away on that check list of things that I want to get done and Jasmine lite the spark under me that I’ve been sorta letting the fire go down from being so busy.  So my friends, I WILL blog at least 3 times a week AND I WILL get that new website up by Feb 1, 2010!  Exciting times for sure!
